Clubs & Extracurriculars

Art Club allows student artists (grades 4-6) to share their creativity, try new things, and learn from each other.  Each year Art Club focuses on a different group project while also allowing time for students to pursue personal art interests.  With limited openings, this club is by invitation only.  Students express their interest in joining this club through an essay.  

Choir Club is open to 4th, 5th and 6th grade students.  We will work on Vocal Technique and songs to perform throughout the school year.  We will learn the National Anthem and perform as a group for a community sporting event.  

American Sign Language (ASL) is the primary language used by the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in the United States. Mrs. Vitera, a sign language interpreter with over 20 years of experience, has a passion for ASL and is excited to share it with students at Rumsey Station!

In Sign Language Club, students will explore ASL and Deaf culture while learning conversational signs, useful vocabulary, and even putting their signs to music.

The club is open to 5th and 6th grade students. If space allows, it may also open to interested 4th graders. Meetings will be held after school from 3:15–4:00 p.m. on the dates listed on the school calendar.

Students who would like to join will receive a permission form to bring home, sign, and return. Space is limited, so please return forms as soon as possible.

Battle of the books is a 5th and 6th grade reading club where students are involved in reading a set of books throughout the year. Then they  practice "battle" over those books.  Near the end of battle season, all students are involved in a school battle. The two top winners of the school battle move on to a district battle. This club is for students who love to read and like some competition!

This club will meet once a week on either Monday or Tuesday, depending on Mr. Pudenz's schedule at Rumsey. During our meetings, we’ll work together on the train set—developing a layout plan, expanding the tracks, constructing additional buildings, and wiring the system to get the train running smoothly. Our work will culminate in a showcase on May 18th, where we’ll present what we’ve built and explain the process behind it.

Due to space limitations and the nature of the project, the club will be limited to 8 students.
